It is the first time ever for Chinese contemporary crafts to be located in the CRAFT sector at Maison&Objet, since after their decision of makeover, the CRAFT sector is open to international participants in the first time in 20 years. It is also the first time for a curated design showcase of nearly 100 pieces of works by artists and designers from China to be presented at Maison&Objet.
Our 60㎡ stand will be situated in the ‘Signature’ area of Unique & Eclectic and CRAFT, side by side with international renowned craft artists and luxury designer brands.
The theme for the exhibition aims to show a path of innovation for Chinese contemporary crafts, showing different takes on the traditional techniques and materials, some of which are nearly extinct. The artists and designers consist of a diverse group, ranging from young rising talents to established artists and brands, with educational background from all over the world. The carefully selected works will unveil exquisite craftsmanship in bamboo, ceramics, silk, metal and wood.
