China Design Centre is delighted to introduce to the UK market the exclusive Chinese contemporary fine bone china brand Asianera. An intensive two-day programme was organised from 18-19th June on Asianera’s behalf, kicking off with a private press and buyers’ launch at the China Design Centre. This was swiftly followed by a series of meetings which led to an extremely successful introduction to one of the most famous luxury retailers in the world.
Grace Liu, Managing Director of Asianera, said “Jack (CEO of CDC London) and I have the same vision of Chinese design. I’m so pleased the China Design Centre has invited us to join their portfolio of very talented designers and creative brands. The CDC team is well-positioned to look after our ranges and our brand in the UK, and possibly further afield in the future. In fact, we’ve already seen proof of this, with some very high-level, positive introductions.”
CDC London has also created a PR vehicle for Asianera’s luxury life-sized hand-painted bone china Chihuahua dog, designed by award-winning artist Lu Zhou. Working with luxury pet accessories designers, Mungo and Maud, who have a concession in Harrods, the promotion will use social media to reach its target audience.
Asianera’s core merchandise is its tableware. There are several different ranges, including the Asianera house-label, hand-painted fine china, featuring a distinctive contemporary design approach to classical Chinese images such as Song Dynasty beauties, Mongolian horses and exquisite goldfish.
Asianera also offers a mid-price range of chinaware designs under the brand AE2., The monochrome designs called Shadows and Celadon Crackle are part of this brand.
Later this year, China Design Centre will host an exhibition of some of China’s most sought-after contemporary ceramic artists and makers, including some rare collectible pieces.
